Lorraine Jordan

Lorraine Jordan was born in 1941 in the southern French city of Nîmes; she passed away in 2022. Her early inspiration for painting came from her family's connections to the renowned painter Frédéric Bazille. She made the decision to pursue her studies in painting and drawing at the Nîmes School of Fine Arts following the birth of her third child.

Her professor encouraged her to become strong in color, which led her to pursue color principles. Her vibrant perceptions became the foundation of her work. Lorraine Jordan paints the subjects and landscapes of southern France with simple beauty, interpreting her surroundings through a palette of exuberant color.

Her paintings were distinctive, and her work was sold internationally. It continues to be sought after because it lends itself to representation and abstraction.
