Elizabeth Jackson

Elizabeth Jackson has lived in Carmel-by-the Sea for over 20 years. Originally from Ohio, she was encouraged to pursue fine art by teachers who recognized her talent. In 1987, Elizabeth was selected by portfolio to attend The Cleveland Institute of Art. Their program involved two years of traditional training followed by an intensive three-year art major. She developed a proficiency in a variety of disciplines as well as a knowledge of art history. Consequently, the artist has an appreciation for traditional and contemporary art.
Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art majoring in painting with a sculpture minor. The Gund Foundation, Professors and Board members distinguished her work through a juried exhibition of her graduating class. The Ohio Arts Council awarded her with only six other college graduates for outstanding youth achievement. Her work hangs in their collection.
Elizabeth's paintings have become part of collections worldwide largely due to their affectionate nature. "I try to start the conversation with an exuberant use of color, an accessible style and a genuine thankfulness to God. My paintings serendipitously find their owners and it's a wonderful feeling of connection. I hope the viewer is inspired to find the joy in everyday circumstances and use that sense of optimism as fuel."
