PAUL MOON
American

Born in Wichita, Kansas in 1927, Paul Moon began painting at a young age. His major emphasis in High School was art. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy which enabled him to travel the world and to explore the nature's beauty.

Between 1950 and 1952, Mr. Moon attended two noted French academies: The Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, and The Academie Julian. There he discovered his own unique style of painting and at the same time he met his wife Betsey. After returning to the United States, he dedicated himself to painting full time. Immediately his works were well received by the San Francisco Bay Area artistic community and collectors alike.

Capturing the mood of the Redwoods became his trademark. The realistic way in which he depicts light and color in his paintings can be attributed to his classical training and his
observant eye. Every detail of his paintings, the texture of the Redwood bark, or the
individual fronds of fern plants, is meticulously applied in realistic technique unique to Mr. Moon.

Owning a Paul Moon painting is a great privilege and a moving experience. Throughout his long and successful career he has attracted the most discerning collectors.
